With line editing, our editors will read through your document or manuscript in detail to address your writing at the sentence level and ensure it is clear and easy to read. Line editing specifically refers to going through a piece of writing line by line. This form of editing addresses style and language, including sentence structure, phrasing, rhythm, and use of description. This can be especially helpful for anyone writing in a second language, but can be beneficial to all writers who wish to elevate their writing.
Line editing also encompasses copyediting which is similar to proofreading (see above), in that it focuses on sentence errors such as punctuation and spelling. However, copyediting also extends to the organisation and presentation of a document or manuscript at the paragraph level to improve the flow and consistency of your writing. We include both aspects as part of our line and copyediting service.
We recommend line editing if:
The structure and content of your writing is complete, but you would like to make your work clearer and more readable by improving the style and language.
